New Path Farm Tour: Mushrooms and Microgreens
New Path Farm 13805 Hartford Rd., Sunbury, OH, United StatesMatt and Alicia Merritt started New Path Farm in 2019, a small family farm in Sunbury, Ohio, that grows gourmet mushrooms and microgreens. They sell duck eggs from their free range, foraging ducks who happily roam 7.5 acres. They focus on sustainability and grow delicious, nutritious produce with a low environmental impact. This event is hosted by Common Greens. Common Greens works every day in service to its mission: to build vibrant and inclusive marketplaces where food producers earn a decent living, farmland is kept in sustainable production, and everyone has access to healthy local foods. This silvopasture tour will take place at Hidden Creek Pasture where Wendall Miller, his wife Carla, and their five children manage 70 acres of rolling farm and woodlands. Heather and Beth, owners and beginning farmers of Ohio Elderberry Farm + Kitchen, have been growing elderberries for personal use since 2008 before launching into growing them at scale in 2020.
