Derrick is originally from Hardin County, where he grew up around agriculture. He earned a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University, majoring in plant pathology and minoring in soil. Gina is a Certified Lab-tech and consultant through Dr. Elaine Ingham's Soil Food Web School. Community Food Initiatives invites backyard, community, and small farm growers to join us at Farm Star for a hands-on workshop and farm tour with a focus on building soil health.
