Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District

Guest Speaker Derrick Freshcorn is a Wetland/Soil Conservationist Compliance Specialist for the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). During his class, he will walk through a soil analysis using Web Soil Survey and provide other visual demonstrations using soil samples. Derrick is originally from Hardin County, where he grew up around agriculture. He earned a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University, majoring in plant pathology and minoring in soil. He presently works on Farm Bill Compliance for NRCS and was formerly a soil scientist at the state office. This event will be held in the main room of the Lucas SWCD office and is open to all who are interested in learning more about your soil and improving soil health.
