Soil Health Symposium Hosted by Antioch College Micro Farm and Learning Hub

This will be a full-day program at the Antioch Farm, a hub of sustainability and hands-on learning at Antioch College. This event is designed for farmers from all backgrounds, practitioners, researchers, and community leaders who are passionate about soil health, sustainable agriculture, and collaborative project development. Registrants will connect onsite to participate in generally applicable soil health training/education; to learn about the Antioch College Micro Farm’s sustainable agriculture practices; to brainstorm innovative, fundable, and mutually beneficial projects; and to socialize with like-minded agriculturalists and environmentalists.

- 9:30 a.m. | Check-in and refreshments
- 10 a.m. | Welcome, with remarks from Antioch College President Jane Fernandes
- 10:30-11:45 a.m. | Soil health demonstrations on the farm and technical demonstrations in the Environmental Science Lab, followed by discussion with the one.two.five Benefit Corporation and Glorified Dirt, LLC
- 11:45-noon | Break
- Noon | Farm to table lunch
- 12:20 p.m. | Plenary summarizing reflections from the research
- 12:45 p.m. | Moderated conversation about grant funding with panelists from The Nature Conservancy and Green Acres Foundation
- 1:30 p.m. | Workshop exercise and stations
- 2:15 | Closing out
- 2:15-3:30 | Optional exhibition/screening of Antioch Student arts & sciences projects including film, An Ode to Soil and music video, The Power of Three – 3 Sisters
This workshop is in coordination with research supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, under Regional Conservation Partnership Program Supplemental Agreement number 2794, led by the one.two.five Benefit Corporation. Other workshop partners include Gathered Vessels LLC, Greenacres Foundation, Glorified Dirt, and The Nature Conservancy of Ohio.
