OEFFA Website Privacy Policy

The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of www.oeffa.org. We’ve created the following policy guidelines with a fundamental respect for our users’ right to privacy and to disclose the privacy practices for www.oeffa.org.

OEFFA’s website is an educational and informational electronic publication of OEFFA. Its purpose is to share the story of OEFFA; our work and mission; share resources, events, and educational materials, and to invite interested online visitors to be part of our efforts.

When you visit our site to read or download information, we may collect and store the following general information in order to analyze trends, gather broad demographic information, and monitor site traffic patterns that can help us further develop and improve the design and functionality of our site: your computer’s temporary IP address, browser type, and operating system, the date and time you access our site, the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site; and the various pages that you visit while on our site and length of time visited on each page.

While OEFFA does not directly use cookies, portions of the OEFFA site are hosted on a platform (Salsa Labs) that does.

Salsa Labs and their third party service providers use cookies and other tracking mechanisms to track information about the use of their services by site visitors. They may combine this information with other personal information they collect. Currently, their systems do not recognize browser “do-not-track” requests. You may, however, disable cookies through your browser settings without impacting the quality of your visit to the OEFFA website.

OEFFA uses Google Analytics to monitor the performance and effectiveness of our website and the services our website provides. Google provides us with general demographic information which assists us in designing and marketing our services more effectively. This information does not identify users personally.

OEFFA also collects information about users during their registration for some of our services or events, during membership and donation transactions, and as part of some online action alerts. This information can include the name, business/organization, address, phone, email, chapter preference, county, donor level, donor type, and website provided by users at the time of registration. Registration forms can collect information for other people, including additional guests in the user’s party and children. Information about adults may be collected and included on OEFFA’s database. IP addresses are collected at the time of registration for security purposes.

From this database, OEFFA periodically sends out informational or advocacy messages, event invitations, and fundraising appeals by mail and email. Users can indicate that they do not wish to receive communications information from OEFFA by contacting OEFFA’s Member Care Associate, at membership@oeffa.org or (614) 947-1611.

Rarely, OEFFA shares our lists with non-affiliated organizations and businesses who are members of OEFFA and who sign a restricted Memorandum of Understanding outlining the specific use of the information. Use is granted only temporarily, and organizations and businesses are asked to destroy the list after the specified period of use. Users can indicate that they do not wish to be part of any list sharing agreement by contacting OEFFA’s Member Care Associate, at membership@oeffa.org or (614) 947-1611.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information, such as credit card data, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way through our credit card processing partner. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personal financial information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Your credit card information will not be released by OEFFA or its credit card processing partner to any other party.

We are pleased when young people visit www.oeffa.org to learn more about sustainable and organic agriculture. OEFFA does not knowingly solicit data from children and does not knowingly market to children.

OEFFA’s website contains links to other sites. OEFFA is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

If you have feedback, comments, or questions about our donor privacy policy or OEFFA’s website privacy statement, please contact Executive Director at (614) 947-1601. Written inquiries may be sent to OEFFA, 41 Croswell Rd., Columbus, OH 43214. OEFFA’s web developer, Philip Marr, may be contacted at phil@oeffa.org.

OEFFA reserves the right to change, modify, or update this notice and privacy statement at any time and without notice.
